IGERETXE: A LIVING MEMORY OF THE SPA TOURISM IN GETXO.

During the last two centuries spa tourism, especially marine spas, has been a significant element in Getxo’s history. The voracious industry of Bilbao and the changes in the social habits made this activity disappear without leaving a trace.

However, amongst all the spa and tourist facilities set up on the banks of the Abra Bay, the Igeretxe’s building silhouette is the one that still stands as the milestone of a time already gone. A significant place in the present times that looks ahead full of energy and illusion.
